Project Rescue · Taking over a product from another team

We take over your product without downtime for your users

We take over a product someone else left behind. We start with a code audit that ends in a list of risks and a recovery plan, and the first fixes reach production right after takeover.

Who it is for

When the previous team has left and the product has to keep running.

  • Your previous software house is ending the contract or has stopped responding.
  • Nobody in the company knows exactly how the code works.
  • The app is slow and every release breaks something.
  • The platform or frameworks hold the product back.

What you get

What's in scope

  • 01

    Code audit

A list of risks and a recovery plan, before we change anything.

  • 02

    First fixes

The most urgent problems fixed in production right after takeover.

  • 03

A rebuild when it makes sense

A move to new frameworks or a custom system when the recovery plan justifies it.

How it works

From the first call to production

Every stage passes the same three gates: AI takes the first pass, a senior owns quality, a separate QA team checks everything from scratch.

  1. Takeover

Repositories, servers and documentation move to us without your users noticing.

  2. Audit

Code analysis, a list of risks and a recovery plan.

  3. First fixes

The most urgent problems in production, in short sprints - weekly ones on Mięsna Paczka.

  4. Maintenance and development

We keep maintaining and developing the product, or rebuild it according to the plan.

How we work together

What we agree on

We agree on scope, timeline and budget before work starts - before anyone writes the first line.

  • Audit first

The audit is a separate stage: afterwards you know what is in the code, what puts the product at risk and what we fix first.

  • Scope and budget before the start

We agree on scope, timeline and budget of each stage before work starts. After the call you get a plan and a ballpark.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not here, ask it on the first call.

Can you take over a project from another software house?

Yes. We start with a code audit that ends in a list of risks and a recovery plan. Examples: FOAP - taken over mid-project, today we run its ongoing development. Mięsna Paczka - a rebuild on the latest frameworks, a new store replacing the previous solution.

Will there be downtime?

We plan the takeover so your users don't notice it. For big changes, the new version can run next to the old one and take over traffic gradually - that is how we launched the new Depilacja.pl system.

How long does the audit take?

Usually 1-2 weeks from receiving access. First fixes don't wait for the audit to end - the most urgent ones reach production right after takeover.

What if we have no documentation?

Then the audit starts from the code itself. It ends with a list of risks and a recovery plan: a description of what is in the system and what we fix first.

Do you rewrite everything from scratch?

Not by default. A rebuild on new frameworks comes in when the recovery plan justifies it - first we fix what gets in your users' way.
